So at about 6pm we get home, spend a little time to unwind (yeaaah right!) change clothes, walk the dog, eat a snack, and we're ready to ride by about 6:30pm. Aaliyah got a Novara Afterburner Trailer Bike a couple days earlier and we've taken a ride every day since. She asks if we can go by the granola bar bakery/factory again to see the river. The river? I replied. Now, how about we have a little adventure. She's game... Follow our trip on gMaps here

I love this pose, like a glamourous skating inspired clothing line for wealthy toddlers and/or midgets.

Taking a picture with the afterburner before we embark on today's adventure.

First stop, the little bridge / overpass on archer barely east of ashland

We took a moment to reflect on the surface of the water and realized, "Whoa!" even if we seemed far away from the infamous bubbly creek... the river was still bubbling.

"Is it from the cow and pig heads they threw in there???" asks Aaliyah Sure is babe, sure is...

One more pose with the contraption, this time with the bubbly waters in the background.

"Do you know what river this is Aaliyah?" I asked
"It's Chicago's River" she replied.

bout a half mile up ashland just under the sun-times presses on the other side of the bridge from bubbly creek. We walk down to the river bank, and boy was it filthy.

"Can I touch the water?" asked Aaliyah
"No way!" I replied
"Can we look and see the cow heads?" asked Aaliyah

Even further up the actual bridge about 2700 South Ashland.

After all this we bolted up ashland (via defunct rail) and turned east on Cermack, back over the loomis bridge, then to aberdeen, 35th and home. (5.39 miles) I attempted to capture some full motion video of her riding on the way home, but alignment was a problem. Look for more to come tomorrow. I am also working on the google map (here) so you can follow along on our trip.

No mention by name, but the second time Aaliyah has appeared in an actual newspaper. Albeit McKinley Park life, not the Chicago Tribune. But its alot more circulation than my newpaper articles when I was 5.. oh yeah, there were none. Anyways, the little scientist is back at it learning about reptilian behavior... cooooolld bloooded!!!
