Event Presented By:         Dear Friend, Dear Friend,   On July 26, 2012 I will be participating in the Young Associates Board’s (YAB) 10th Annual Run for Gus 5K Run/1 Mile Walk. This special event is raising awareness and vital funds for pediatric brain tumor research, treatments and support services at Children's Memorial Hospital, which is becoming Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago on June 9, 2012. Why am I running?  I am running for Naomi Harmon Kirksey.  Naomi was a beautiful child, one of my daughters closest friends who was taken from this world far too early.  I will run in her honor.  To show that she is gone, but not forgotten.  Hoping that funds that are raised in her honor, can help assist other children who are battling cancer.  I run because I sympathize with children like Naomi and their familes.   She was loved by all that knew her.   Her smile was warm, and tender, and I'd like to think that running in her honor will make her smile, where ever she is.
